Helping respond to COVID-19 - Latest Community Projects

National Immunisation Vaccination System Data Automation

West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust are using the National Immunisation System (NIVS) for recording COVID-19 staff vaccination data. Initially the Trust utilised their ESR and in-house vaccination database to log immunisations. NHS England introduced a requirement to input this data also into the NIVS. To eliminate duplicate data entry, the Trust has implemented SX to integrate data directly, with the process simply pulling information from the staff ESR.

  Staff COVID Vaccination Project

Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust has combined both FX and MX for the booking and administering of COVID-19 vaccines for its staff. The Trust has created an eForm that allows staff to book a suitable time and date. MX is then used on the day to provide the clinician with essential patient information and record the administering of the vaccination quickly and easily.

Patient Waiting List Data Automation

East Lancashire NHS Foundation Trust is utilising SX to automate their patient waiting list, prompted by a huge shift in clinical priority because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Supported by NDL's Professional Services team, a full end-to-end process was developed collaboratively, including a full handover in only 7 days. SX now inputs patient feedback straight into PAS for review, the Trust can manage postponed or awaiting reschedule appointments, and gather patient feedback to review and prioritise need based on clinical risk.

To find out more about these, click here to watch the presentation video or get in touch with hannah.gilbank@ndl.co.uk.

We want to keep up to date with your ongoing projects and help to facilitate peer-to-peer collaboration, from a line of code, eForm or an app template from our app showcase. If you would like to share your story, or would like to know more about the above, please get in touch.

Follow the success of our 2019 event, the NDL team hoped to welcome you all back to Yorkshire for a summertime 2-day Tech Fest in July. The safety of our community members and our staff is paramount, we have made the decision to postpone the get-together.

We’re now working through the details and paying close attention to Government guidance as to when we can conduct an in-person event. Our current plan is to hold a wider 2021 Community Summit event in October, bringing together a wider audience of both technical and business change leaders into one, free multi-day event. This will also provide a great platform to celebrate your achievements in our 2021 awards programme. Obviously, the situation is still fluid at the moment, so watch out for more news in future communications.

NDL Community Awards 2021

Back in November 2020, we celebrated your project achievements, category winners and saw donations to 10 incredible charities, all as part of the (virtual) 2020 NDL Community Awards programme.
